Pray for an end to abortion
LETTER TO EDITOR

Over 6 million people were killed by Nazis in World War II. A very tragic loss of life! But what would you say if I told you that SIXTY THREE million people have been killed since 1973? How do you wrap your head around such an unimaginable loss of life? Yet the Guttmacher Institute tells us that is the number of lives we have lost in the United States due to abortion, since 1973, when the Supreme Court wrongly decided the Roe v Wade ruling. Thankfully, that Court ruling was overturned in June of 2022, but not before all these precious innocent preborn children paid the price and lost their lives. There is no — and never has been — a right to abortion in our Constitution!
We can't get these lives back, but we can save other lives from being tragically lost to abortion. On Jan. 24, at 10 a.m., meet at St. Wenceslaus Church, 630 E. Davenport St., in Iowa City, to rally and march to the Emma Goldman Abortion Clinic, to pray. Bring along baby items that will be donated to pro-life pregnancy centers.
40 Days for Life, a 40 day period of prayer, fasting, and community outreach, begins on Feb. 18 and ends on March 29. Find time to go to Iowa City to pray in front of the Emma Goldman Abortion Clinic, 227 N. Dubuque St. Over 26,144 lives around the world have been saved since the first 40 Days for Life campaign in 2007! If you can't go to Iowa City, pray and fast at your home. God hears and answers our prayers!
Vote for pro-life candidates! Your vote makes a difference! Let's make abortion not just illegal, but unthinkable!
