I am Chautauqua
I am Chautauqua.
The Gathering place.
The Assembly place.
The place where moccasins, tied together, make their path.
I am the place where Teachers gather to hone their craft.
Where obscurity turns to profession.
Where the desire for education morphs into deep caring of pupils.
Yes. I am Chautauqua.
I am the Witness.
The Watcher. The Supporter.
I am the grounds where the two legged come to learn to teach to learn.
I am wounded.
My Trees, my Rocks, my Earth, ache.
I have witnessed, and I weep.
I need you to come.
You need me - so come.
Let not my name be empty.
I am Chautauqua.
I am the Gathering place.
Come. Be My Witness.
Come. Be My Healing.
Come. Allow me to partake in your Healing.
Come.
I Am Chautauqua.
