Love needed more than ever
We are now into the Christmas Season which promotes joy, love, and peace which is needed more than ever today. The hate mongers, however, are very busy advancing prejudice, hate and violence as they promote white supremacy, anti-Semitism, racism, bigotry, revenge and violence.
There have been over 600 mass shootings in this country so far this year. Customers in a grocery store were murdered because they were black. People have been murdered in synagogues and in night clubs that have LGBT crowds. Unfortunately, the internet is full of hate, prejudice, discrimination and encouragement of violence.
Putin and the Russian military are committing carnage and horrific war crimes in Ukraine. Apartments, homes, hospitals and the country’s infrastructure have been bombed so many Ukrainians are entering winter without heat and electricity. Russian soldiers have raped, tortured and murdered the people including little children.
The long ago words of H. W. Longfellow seem more true than ever. He wrote “For hate is strong and mocks the song of peace on earth good will to men.”

WACO anti-poverty program a success
The WACO C.R.O.P. (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Committee and Church World Service sends their thanks to the WACO Community for their contributions to this year’s C.R.O.P. Drive.
Because of this outpouring of generosity, donations exceeded expectations and surpassed the committee’s goal of $34,000. The grand total of cash and commodities was $46,317.10 and is the largest amount given since 1982.
Monies will be used to help those who need it most around the world, in the USA and within our own WACO community, where 25% is given to the WACO Ministerial to distribute as needed here at home.
A huge thank you to the C.R.O.P. Captains, Canvassers, and all Donors who support this ministry.

WACO C.R.O.P. Publicity Chair
