Live Animal Christmas Play was terrific
Throughout my optometric career I was always impressed with the respect and politeness shown to me by members of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church whenever they would come to my office. Having just attended this year’s Live Animal Christmas Play with my wife Linda, discipline would seem to be yet another of their attributes. With seemingly at least fifty children in the audience, many I’m assuming part of their bussing ministry, not once during the near two-hour performance did I hear a “peep” out of any one of them. Admittedly the engaging story line of the play likely played a role as well.
The only thing possibly more outstanding than the play itself was the organizational talents displayed in presenting it. From the warmth of the congregational greeters matching that of the space heaters providing heat to the large tent set up in the street, to the somewhat unique seating protocol used bringing order to an otherwise potentially chaotic undertaking, to the professional looking printed materials and many safeguards taken including having abundant “staffing” to insure one’s safety, it was simply first class and well organized in every respect! Whoever was in charge should be living in Washington D.C., not Washington, Iowa. The country would be much better off!
The production itself had obviously evolved since Linda and I last saw it, with the lighting and sound crews using contemporary technology and pyrotechnics to present the ageless story of the true meaning of Christmas. Yet there is another lesson to be learned from attending the play as well. And that is to simply see first-hand what amazing talent and teamwork exists within the walls of a local small-town church, represented by an unpretentious collection of talented worshippers clearly expressing their joy for The Lord!
If you haven’t ever been GO! You will not regret it. The experience will prove most humbling in more ways than one!!

It’s not over
If you think the nonsense is over now that the Respect for Marriage Act is law forcing all states to recognize same sex marriage, maybe you missed Joe Biden’s invitations to special guests for signing the bill.
Most notably were drag queens that love story hour with children as young as 2, Marti Cummings, Brita Filter and Dylan Mulvaney.
And note Biden’s words; “We need to challenge the hundreds of callous cynical laws introduced in states targeting transgender children, terrifying families and criminalizing doctors who get children to care they need”.
Also, anyone who criticizes the transitioning of children is responsible for racism, anti Semitism, homophobia ... they are all connected.
Consider; you need to be 18 to buy cigarettes, 21 to buy beer, a New York mother was arrested for letting her 10 year old son get a tattoo, but there is no age restriction for chemical or surgical gender altering that destroys a child’s life forever.
Don’t forget this bill took priority over the Defense Authorization Bill that was finally finished long after it was due.
