Mayor Rosien must resign
This letter is to the people of Washington, Iowa. We must demand better. When the news broke about the mayor of Washington, Jaron Rosien, I can say that I honestly wasn’t surprised. He has always been one to not stand for anything in an effort to avoid conflict. In my life being involved in politics all across the nation, I’ve found men who don’t stand for anything are generally morally bankrupt.
The people of Washington must demand that a man credibly accused of and charged with felony sexual abuse in his own establishment, while being allegedly captured on his own security cameras in the act, must resign or be removed from office. He even admitted that he was too drunk to have full control of his faculties.
The people of Washington must take a more proactive roll in choosing who represents them in the mayor’s office and on the city council. We are represented by busybodies, not people of principle. Do better. Demand better. Mr. Rosien must resign and we must elect a morally upright mayor.
