175th Celebration Committee

The Washington 175th Celebration is moving ahead on many fronts. The 175th Committee was awarded a grant in the latest round of grants from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation. The grant in the amount of $35,000 will be used for expenses and promotion of the 175th Celebration June 1-8. In addition to the grant, Washington City is providing $15,000 for the Celebration; and fundraising chair Dale Torpey and his committee, Keith Lazar, Steve Olson and Jim Gorham, have raised another $21,500 for the event.

The 175th Committee has also announced that items to commemorate next year's celebration have gone on sale. A variety of items with the 175th logo are available.
