2011 Iowa State Fair Competition Results: fabric and threads, FFA breeding beef, more
Several area individuals who participated in various contests at the 2011 Iowa State Fair have been awarded with ribbons and titles. Partial competition results follow:
FFA BREEDING BEEF SHOW
Shelby Moothart of Fairfield had the Reserve Champion Shorthorn Heifer in the FFA Breeding Beef Show on Thursday. Moothart was a breed champion in the Champion Chianina Heifer Division in 2010.

FFA BREEDING BEEF SHOW
Shelby Moothart of Fairfield had the Reserve Champion Shorthorn Heifer in the FFA Breeding Beef Show on Thursday. Moothart was a breed champion in the Champion Chianina Heifer Division in 2010.

FABRIC AND THREADS TOYS AND DOLLS CONTEST
Judie Herzog of Fairfield placed third for her stuffed display doll judged prior to the start of the fair in the Fabric and Threads Toys and Dolls Contest.

FABRIC AND THREADS QUILTING CONTEST
Herzog placed third in the scrap and pieced categories of the Fabric and Threads Quilting Contest. Both Herzog and Donna R. Corry of Birmingham received honorable mention in the holiday quilt category.

FABRIC AND THREADS SENIOR
CITIZENS CONTEST
Geri Nordyke of Agency impressed the judges with her crochet doily, taking third place in the Fabric and Threads Senior Citizens Contest.

FABRIC AND THREADS CROCHET CONTEST
Nordyke took home several ribbons in the Fabric and Threads Crochet Contest.
The Agency resident won for a doily in the less than 14 inches, colored thread category, for a luncheon cloth in the 30-54 inches in diameter category, for a dresser scarf, for a baby jacket with cap, and for a holiday decoration. She placed third for a centerpiece in the 14-21 inches in diameter category and for a framed crochet item. She also placed fourth for a centerpiece in the 22-30 inches in diameter category and for a doll garment made of thread.
Nordyke was awarded sweepstakes honors.

TWINS, TRIPLETS AND MORE CONTEST
Fair-goers and judges saw double and triple at the annual Twins, Triplets and More Contest on Thursday at the Anne and Bill Riley Stage.
Eli, Jasmine and Georgia Padget of Birmingham took third place in the ?most alike? category for ages 5-6.
