2019 Community Service Awards

The Henry County Historic Preservation Commission received the 2019 Community Service Award from the James Harlan Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.

The award is given to individuals and groups who have contributed to their communities in an outstanding manner. The presentation was made Thursday, May 23, in Mt. Pleasant's Forest Home Cemetery, during the annual rededication ceremony of the Charles Shepherd monument. Shepherd is the only known patriot of the Revolutionary War buried in Henry County.

Commission members present to accept the certificate and pin: Martha Francy, Mary Savage, Caroline Lehman and Joel Garretson, chairperson. Other members who were not able to attend: Todd Barton, Chad Brousseau, Johanna Crawford, Faye Heartsill and Larry Roth.
