Several Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center blood drives are planned.
Jefferson County PM in Fairfield will host a community blood drive from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds' Cambridge Learning Center.
For appointments to donate, contact the blood center at 800-452-1097 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5032 to locate the drive.
Donors who last gave blood on or before June 18 are eligible to give at this drive.
Fairfield Arts & Convention Center will host a community blood drive from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, in its Smith Meeting Room.

Donors who last gave blood on or before June 19 are eligible to give at this drive.
Aeron Lifestyle Technology in Fairfield will host a community blood drive from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 14, inside its recreation room.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a completed parental permission form can donate. The form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 100 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center.
