4-H and FFA goat weigh-in held

Washington County 4-H?ers and FFA members weighed in market goats on Thursday, May 4, for the 2017 Washington County Fair.

Thirty members weighed and tagged 58 goats. Nineteen goats were nominated for the Iowa State Fair through retinal scans. Additional state fair goats will be included after their retinal scans have been complete.

4-H members received email notification to go into 4hOnline to verify all market weights by May 15. Any breeding animals will also need to be entered by the 4-H member into 4hOnline accounts by May 15. Staff at the Extension office can assist with this if needed.

Thank you to Vicky and Duane Fisher, 4-H goat superintendents, for their time retinal scanning and donation of equipment, as well as to all the volunteers who assisted with the goat weigh-in for the 2017 Washington County Fair.
