4-H Beef feeding workshop to be held

4-H?ers involved in the beef project area are encouraged to attend the first session of the Beef Workshop Series to start on Jan. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington County Extension Office.
With the assistance of the 4-H and Youth Committee, the beef department will expand and offer several educational opportunities this year to improve and further develop the beef projects for 4-H'ers in Washington County. Different topic areas will be covered at each meeting while a variety of producers will also be available for a question-and-answer session at each meeting a well.
On Jan. 11 a beef nutritionist will be presenting on feed ingredients, budgets, and how to finish market animals. The ISU Beef Specialist will teach how to evaluate hay quality, and youth will practice on hay samples.
These workshops are open to all 4-H'ers. Parents are encouraged to attend.
