4-H bucket bottle calf prepare for fair workout
Jun. 15, 2021 4:43 pm
Washington County 4-H’ers involved in the bucket bottle project area are invited to attend the summer workouts on Friday, June 18 at 7 p.m. and on July 10 at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds, to help both 4-Hers and calves prepare for the fair. Bucket bottle superintendents will lead the workshop in the main show ring on the fairgrounds, demonstrating how the show will run during the fair.
Each workshop will have new presenters and learning, so members are encouraged to attend both. Exhibitors will also earn extra credit points for their overall scores by attending these workshops.
4-Hers are encouraged to bring their own calves to practice showmanship in the ring. This workshop is open to all 4-Hers. Parents are encouraged to attend. All bucket bottle exhibitors are also reminded of the July 1 Fair Entry registration deadline.
Save the date of July 17 — the morning of Bucket bottle interviews. Bucket bottle project workbooks will be due at this time. Intermediate and senior members will take their test that morning as well. The interview schedules will be arranged and mailed in June.
Questions may be directed to Amy Green at the Washington County Extension Office, 319-653-4811. Follow “Washington County 4-H — Iowa” on Facebook for up to date information on 4-H events and youth programs.
