4-H Bucket Bottle members kick off year
Feb. 6, 2022 11:31 am
Twenty-six Washington County 4-H’ers involved in the bucket bottle project gathered on Feb. 1 to kick off their project season. Bucket Bottle calf projects can be born between Jan. 1 and April 30, so some of the 4-Hers have already started their projects.
Members heard from 4-H volunteer project leaders, Bob Spenner, Jeff Fair and Kelsi Fair, on the rules, important dates, health and feeding tips. Bucket Bottle family mentors also answered questions while the youth mentors Taylor Bartholomew, Emma Stalder and Brynn Northup demonstrated a practice interview to model that component of this project which happens in July. Youth mentors also showed record book examples.
For those who were not able to attend this meeting or decide to join this project later, an identical meeting format and content will be shared again April 1 at the Extension Office. Jr members should attend 6-7 p.m. while intermediates and seniors will run from 7-8 p.m.
