A required meeting for Jefferson County 4-H?ers and FFA members planning to participate in the Jefferson County 4-H Dog Project will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the county fairgrounds.
New dog project leader, Linda Selby, plans to provide information and then have participants start working with their dogs. This year, she plans to focus on obedience and dog handling classes and forego the agility class.
Participants should bring: their dog, a 6-foot leash; and a choke chain. To find the right size for a choke chain, measure around the dog?s neck, and add 2 inches.
Obedience and dog handling practices will be 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday April 26 through June 7.
To show at the 2017 Greater Jefferson Fair, a participant is required to attend two practices.
