The 4-H County Council and the Extension Office sponsored a 4-H Fire Up workshop on Sunday, Feb. 21, for new Washington County 4-H?ers to learn more about 4-H. Everyone left fired up to begin projects and teach others about 4-H.
Each family received a 4-H handbook with general 4-H information, project ideas, important dates, the how-to-do of goal writing and record keeping, and more. These handbooks are available at the Extension Office for other new members. 4-H?ers participated in a working exhibit led by Maggie Rinner of Crooked Creek 4-H Club and Haylie Trowbridge of Horse and Pony 4-H Club. Grace Hiller of the Crooked Creek 4-H Club shared her Pride of Iowa presentation with corn salsa. New members also learned about a range of project areas and opportunities 4-H has to offer through presentations from County Council members.
For more information about the Washington County 4-H program as either a volunteer or member, please contact the Washington County Extension Office, 319-653-4811.
