Washington County seventh-to ninth-grade 4-H?ers attended the Region 15 4-H Intermediate Trip to St. Louis, March 11-12. Forty-two 4-H?ers from Washington, Iowa, Keokuk and Johnson county attended this trip, making it the perfect time to make new 4-H friends, explore this Midwest City and make memories that last a lifetime.
Washington County 4-H participants included Ellie Bell, Sophie Bell, Taylor Brinning, Leah Evans, Madison Fishback, Leah Marek, Megan Ruth, Hailey Shultz, and Bailey Sieren. 4-H Youth Committee member Kerri Bell assisted with chaperone duties.
The trip started on a riverboat tour of the Mighty Mississippi viewing unique St. Louis cityscapes. Other tour highlights included a unique evening at the Bissell Mansion where everyone was treated to a four-course meal while trying to figure ?who did it? during the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. The second day was just as jampacked as the first, with stops at the City Museum, where heights didn?t seem to bother these kids, as they plunged down the 10-story slide. After their lunch stop at the famous Hard Rock Café, a tour of Busch stadium and Cardinals Hall of Fame were a ?must see? as they rounded out their trip.
