4-H judge training session available

Join the ranks of 4-H judges or learn more about judging exhibits by attending a new 4-H Judges Training from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach - Polk County, 1625 Adventureland Drive, Suite A, in Altoona. The registration form is available at http://www.extension.iastate.edu/4h/judgestraining. There is a fee for training. The training is limited to 40 people. Each participant will receive a three-ring binder full of resource material. Lunch and refreshment will also be provided.

Hear from Iowa State University Extension 4-H Youth Development staff, experienced 4-H Judges and 4-H Members how to evaluate, educate and encourage 4-H?ers exhibiting at County fairs. A panel of judges will be sharing insight and information during the lunch hour. During the afternoon participants will focus on a content area: Creative Arts, Personal Development, Family and Consumer Science, Agricultural and Natural Resources, Science Engineering and Technology.
