It?s that time of year to get hopping with the 4-H rabbit project area. 4-H and FFA members involved in the rabbit project are invited to attend a free rabbit workshop on Saturday, March 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the basement at the Washington County fairgrounds.
Senior 4-H rabbit showmen are excited to offer this workshop where they will showcase several breeds and teach about the specifics of each. They will share their first-hand experiences showing with showmanship tips as well as answer questions. All rabbits at the county fair must be tattooed. If 4-H?ers need help, free tattooing will be available at the workshop. An animal supply store will be on hand with rabbit supplies and also host a carrier building workshop for one to six rabbits. If 4-H?ers want to build a carrier, please contact the Extension Office by March 17 so proper materials will be available.
Presenters will be covering various topics about rabbits, including rabbit basics, grooming, diseases, and more. All junior rabbit exhibitors or those with questions about this project are encouraged to attend. Contact the Washington County Extension Office with any questions at 319-653-4811.
