4-H Senior Feature

Kyle Basten is a senior at Washington High School and a member of the Bows and Bullets 4-H Club. He is the son of Tom and Sue Basten, and he has a brother Reid.

As a 4-H?er, Basten participated in the project areas of photography, food and nutrition, and home improvement

His 4-H activities include the shooting booth at the fair, range time, and postal competitions

Going to state in photography is one of Basten?s special 4-H memories.

?People should join 4-H as soon as they can,? said Basten. ?I joined 4-H looking for a fun time and a place to show my pictures. I learned so much more, like responsibility, note-taking, and canning. It?s a great experience for anyone who has hobbies or is just looking for fun.?

He also participated in speech, drama, archery, youth group, National Honor Society

He plans to attend Iowa State University for engineering.
