Special 4-H memory/highlight:
“The most special memory/highlight I encountered throughout 4-H was attending the State Youth Convention in Ames, Iowa. It was a great opportunity to learn even more about agriculture and the animals we show at the County Fair. Even more importantly, it provided the added benefit of making new and lasting friendships with people from other counties in Iowa.”
Why others should join 4-H:
“I feel that 4-H is beneficial to kids at every level (Clover Kids, Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors) because it creates social opportunities and friendships they might not otherwise gain. It also teaches them the skills they need in order to be more comfortable with public speaking. These rewards will assist them in many ways throughout their lifetime.”
Other Activities:
“I am active in sports at Washington High School and have participated in AAU Basketball and USA Volleyball. I am a member of the National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America and Future Farmers of America. I am a certified Lifeguard and have worked for the Washington YMCA and Crooked Creek Christian Camp. I currently work at JWV Pork in Washington and am an active volunteer through 4-H and within the community.”
Future plans:
“I plan to attend Iowa State University in Ames and I will be majoring in Agronomy and Ag Business.”
