4-H Activities: Various club officer positions, fair queen contest, Little Hands on the Farm volunteer, Pancake Breakfast volunteer, Mud volleyball benchwarmer, hay bale decorating, community service projects, blood drive donor, Farm Tough challenge participant, and 4-H intern at the Wash Co. Extension Office!
Special 4-H memory/highlight: My favorite 4-H experience was serving as Miss Congeniality at the Washington Co. Fair in 2022. The best part of that week for me was leading the kids’ activities (the frog jumping contest, pie eating contest, and clover kid pet show) with the other fair royalty girls. In addition to that, the annual fair mud volleyball tournaments and wash rack water fights have always been a 4-H highlight for me!
What I learned in 4-H: Without 4-H, I wouldn’t have the leadership skills, volunteering experience, community connections, job, or communication skills (and those help in a LOT of situations) that I have today. 4-H has influenced the person that I’ve become in SO many ways. One way being the career I plan to pursue. I’ve been given many opportunities to lead younger 4-Hers in club/county events, and those experiences have made an enormous impact on my decision to major in elementary education. Aside from that, 4-H has been such a fun experience and I’ve made so many memories and lasting friendships.
Other Activities: I am involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, Peer Helping, Business Professionals of America, Speech, Archery, Track & Field, cross-country, Silver Cord, babysitting, multiple youth groups, Sunday School teaching, and a job as the Washington Co. Extension office 4-H intern.
Future plans: I plan to attend Iowa State University this coming fall to earn my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and earn my ESL endorsement.
