Washington County 4-H seeks to honor the group’s senior members by shining the spotlight on each one as they near the end of their 4-H journey. Today the spotlight shines on Ellie Callahan.
Hometown: Parnell, Iowa
Parents: Damon and Jennifer Callahan
School: Mid-Prairie
4-H Club: Green Acres
Projects: Static, woodworking, home improvementprojects, photography, and working exhibits
4-H Activities: Doing many community service projects through my club and attending meetings.
Special 4-H Memory: My favorite 4-H memory is playing mud volleyball every year during county fair week.
Reflection on 4-H: “Throughout my years in 4-H, I have learned communication and leadership skills that I have got to show to younger members throughout 4-H.”
Other Activities: I am involved in FFA, Silver Cord, National Honor Society, Youth Salute, FCCLA, FCA, Big Hawk Little Hawk Mentoring, Girls Wrestling, Volleyball, Soccer, and Dance.
Future Plans: I plan to attend the University of Northern Iowa to major in Communication Sciences and Disorders to pursue a career in Speech Pathology.
