Special 4-H memory/highlight: The most special memory/highlight over my 4-H career would be the opportunities I got to show and present at the state fair, from livestock to static projects. Meeting new people and being challenged at a new level is so much fun!
What I learned in 4-H: I have learned so much through 4-H since 4th grade. The projects you choose to participate in will teach you hard work, dedication, and responsibility, all while being fun. Overall I would say the most beneficial skill I have learned is effective communication because it is something I will use every day for the rest of my life.
Other Activities: During high school, I participated in basketball, volleyball, and track. I am also a member of the National Honor Society, Youth Salute, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Student Leadership, & Silver Cord. I am a certified lifeguard and have worked for the Kalona and Washington YMCA. I have also been employed by Sinclair Tractor, where I was given opportunities to get experience in many different areas.
Future plans: In the fall, I plan to attend Central College in Pella to major in business and minor in Spanish.
