Washington County 4-H seeks to recognize the program’s seniors who are making a difference in their communities. Today, the organization shines the spotlight on Jonathan Moore.

Hometown: Wayland, Iowa
Parents: Todd and Jennifer Moore
School: Washington High School
4-H Club: Washington 4-H Horse and Pony Club
Projects: Horse project, woodworking project, garden project
4-H Activities: helping with the 4-H horse driving clinics, 4-H kids day events during the fair
Special 4-H memory/highlight: Getting the opportunity to drive our team of horses at fair with my Grandpa Terry Moore the very first time I did 4-Wheel Wagon Hitch Class and playing cards with my friends in the horse barn.
“I’ve had the opportunity to serve as vice president of our club for multiple years. 4-H has taught me many things about volunteering, leadership and the value of teamwork through both people and animals. One thing I love about 4-H is the network of friendships you build and possibilities to learn new things and grow.”
Other Activities: Washington Co. FFA, NASP Archery, ASA Archery, S3DA archery, JOAD/USA Archery, NFAA archery, Flint River Archery Club, Washington Co. Archers.
Future plans: Attend Southeastern Illinois College, (AAS) outfitters wildlife management program, then police academy training with plans to become a conservation officer. I’ve also signed my National Letter of Intent to shoot archery for collegiate archery team.
