Name: Jordan Hammen

4-H Club: 76 Progressives

Projects: Swine, Cattle, Dog Project, Poultry, Photography

4-H activities: Leadership development, livestock judging and County Council

Special 4-H memory/highlight: Attending the 4-H State Youth Conference in Ames where I got to meet lots of new people and engage in fun events.

What I learned in 4-H:

'Throughout all my years of 4-H I got the opportunity to learn how to become a leader as well as a responsible person,” says Jordan. 'I have also been able to meet lots of new people that have became some of my closest friends. I highly recommend that others join 4-H because you learn all these great skills that will help you have a successful future.”

Other activities: Cross country, basketball, track, dance team, FFA, speech, youth group, student council and County Council

Future plans: Attend Kirkwood Community College to get a majority of my general education coursework done and then transfer to Iowa State to major in Ag Business.

School: WACO Jr/Sr High School

4-H Club: Crooked Creek

Projects: Rabbits, Poultry, Goats, Sheep and Non-livestock

4-H Activities: Junior leader for Clover Cookers, Poultry Workshop, and mentor for goats and rabbits.

Special 4-H memory/highlight: A memory that I hold onto dearly from 4-H was when I won Rabbit Overall Grand Champion in 2017.

What I learned in 4-H:

'What I have learned from 4-H is that you have to work hard,” says Grace. 'If you want to do well and be proud of what you have done you have to work hard for it.”

Other Activities: Band, choir and orchestra

Future plans: I plan on attending La James International College for aesthetics this coming fall.
