Projects: Breeding beef, child development, citizenship, communications, food & nutrition, gardening, home improvement, horticulture, market beef, photography, Pride of Iowa, production swine, rabbits, sewing & needle arts, and woodworking.
4-H Activities: Green Acres president (2 years), secretary (2 years) and treasurer, member of County Council (3 years), Leadership Development, and a mentor for the Clover Kids rabbit program for 5 years.
Special 4-H memory/highlight: Showing livestock with my friends and earning the highest award in the county, the I Dare You Award.
What have you learned in 4-H, or why others should join 4-H: 'A good reason to join 4-H is because of the lifetime friendships you make and all of the fun opportunities available to you.”
Other Activities. FFA, National Honor Society, I am a member of the Washington United Methodist Church, Washington County Corn and Soybean Growers Association, Iowa Hereford/Junior Hereford, Washington County Pheasants Forever, Washington County Cattlemen Association, and I was Beef Princess. I was selected as a Hills Bank Leadership Grant winner and Hills Bank Youth Salute nominee and award winner. I attended the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State.
Future plans: I plan to attend Kirkwood Community College as an Ag Business Transfer and then transfer to Iowa State University in Ag Business and Agronomy.
