Projects: Breeding Beef, Market Beef, child development, citizenship, communications, food & Nutrition, Pride of Iowa, production swine, rabbits, sewing & needle arts, woodworking, gardening, home improvement, horticulture, and photography.
4-H Activities: Green Acres offices of president and secretary, treasurer - 4 years; Leadership Development member, and a mentor for 5 years for the Clover Kids program in the rabbit division. I have been a County Council member for three years.
Special 4-H memory/highlight: Showing livestock with my family and friends.
What have you learned in 4-H, or why others should join 4-H: 'A good reason to join 4-H is because you will make friends from across the county and state and will have endless opportunities at your fingertips to help you grow,” said Ellie.
Other Activities: FFA, National Honor Society; member of the Washington United Methodist Church, Washington County Corn and Soybean Growers Association, Washington County Cattlemen Association, Iowa Hereford/Junior Hereford, Washington County Pheasants Forever, Hills Bank Youth Salute nominee. I attended the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State.
Future plans: I plan to attend Kirkwood Community College as an Ag Transfer student and then transfer to Iowa State University in Ag Education.
