The future looks bright for Washington County 4-H as fourteen ninth-to 11th-grade members took the next step in their 4-H leadership journey Monday night with the start of Leadership Development. This group is made of high school students wanting to develop and utilize their leadership skills in different ways.
They will meet for four months focusing on special leadership topics, work hand in hand with the current county council and ELITE project teams and also complete in a group community service project. At their first meeting Monday, Feb. 27, they focused on the definition of leadership and identifying those skills through several hands on activities. Leadership Development will meet again March 20, at 6 p.m.
4-H is a youth development program for students wanting to develop leadership skills. For more information regarding leadership development or the Washington County 4-H program contact the extension office, 319-653-4811.
