The future looks bright for Washington County 4-H as 14 ninth- through 11th-grade members took the next step in their 4-H leadership journey Monday night with the start of Leadership Development. This group is made of high school students wanting to develop and utilize their leadership skills in different ways.
They will meet for four months focusing on special leadership topics, work hand-in-hand with the current county council and ELITE project teams and also complete a group community service project. At their first meeting Monday, March 23, they focused on the definition of leadership and started planning for their community service activity, a Lego Land at the county fair. Leadership Development will meet again April 27 at 6 p.m.
4-H is a youth development program for students wanting to develop leadership skills. For more information regarding Leadership Development or the Washington County 4-H program contact the Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
