Several 4-H members hit the pavement shopping downtown Washington Saturday, Sept. 17, with the 4- H Fall Fashion 101 Workshop. This first-time workshop started with important lessons on the element of line used in clothing, led by 4-H clothing superintendent Heather Marek, and how that plays a role in what an outfit looks like.
They visited Jaz? It Up! to learn from owner Aimee Enfield about the importance of purchasing versatile items that can be combined with other items to change the look and to get more wearings. 4-H member and Jaz? It Up employee Kenzi Marek modeled three outfits using a basic graphic tee and also another three outfits with a sleeveless sweater dress. Each outfit was meant for a different occasion. 4-H?ers then shopped downtown Washington looking for items that could vamp up their fall wardrobe. They returned to share their finds and for a photo shoot with local photographer Linda Drish.
This workshop helped youth consider the versatility of a garment and also the cost per wearing when making selections to purchase.
