The Winter seasons can be great for indoor home improvement projects, and 10 Washington County 4-H'ers from across the county learned new painting skills and techniques for their future home improvement projects on Saturday, Nov. 14, at a local business in Washington.
4-H?ers learned about the benefits of using chalk paint, whether it be for furniture, frames, glass, metal or outdoor items. They were able to practice a texturing technique and a flat paint as well as waxing both of those styles to achieve an aged look. Leslie Allender led the workshop. 4-H?ers practiced these techniques with a variety of colors of their choice and then ended the workshop painting a frame they brought with them. Some chose to mix colors, some textured, and some waxed their projects.
