4-H values hands-on learning and community service. Senior 4-H member Lindsey Palmer put these two ideas together when she led a community service project at the March Ready, Set, Sew! 4-H workshop for almost 20 4-H?ers. Palmer had recently sewn 50 burp cloths for the Preemie Project at the University of Iowa, and knew it would be a perfect project for beginning sewers to do as well. Palmer prepared material for 40 more cloths and led the workshop session on how to complete the stitching around the edges.
Washington County 4-H hopes to offer an additional sewing workshop later this spring, please contact them if you are interested in volunteering at 319-653-4811.
