40 Days for Life holds events
40 Days for Life, an international campaign of 40 days of prayer, fasting and community outreach to end abortion begins Wednesday and will run through Nov. 4.

40 Days for Life, an international campaign of 40 days of prayer, fasting and community outreach to end abortion begins Wednesday and will run through Nov. 4.
The most-ever cities, 314 are hosting campaigns.
Several area churches will hold special events during these 40 days, including Immanuel Lutheran, St. Mary Catholic, Foursquare, Friends and Word of Life Lutheran. The kick-off event is at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairfield, when 135 white crosses will be placed on the church lawn, representing the number of lives lost to abortion each hour in this country.
Following a walking taco supper, Sara Lindley from Ottumwa?s Heartland Pregnancy Center will speak about services provided at the center.
