7th Annual Spring Preview Cattle Show held
Washington County 4-H County Council sponsored their Seventh Annual Washington County Spring Preview Cattle Show on Saturday, April 18. The show was an Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association-sanctioned show held at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Youth from Washington County and across the state participated.

Washington County 4-H County Council sponsored their Seventh Annual Washington County Spring Preview Cattle Show on Saturday, April 18. The show was an Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association-sanctioned show held at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Youth from Washington County and across the state participated.
Supreme Champion breeding heifer went to Gracie Danner of West Liberty with a Chianina heifer; $250 prize money was sponsored by Kalona Tire- Ronnie Hershberger. Reserve Champion Breeding Heifer went to Paige Reck of Blakesberg with a Simmental heifer, with $150 prize money sponsored by Washington Ag Supply. In the market beef division, Supreme Champion went to McKenna Brinning of Keota, with a crossbred steer. The $250 prize money was sponsored by Kalona Tire-Ronnie Hershberger. Reserve Champion Market Beef went to Luke Crock of Mechanicsville, with a shorthorn steer. The $150 prize money was sponsored by Eichelberger Farms Inc.
The cattle show was planned by the Washington County 4-H County Council with the help of the 4-H Youth Committee. Youth volunteers assisted with setup, check-in, ring help, food booth and cleanup. The event was made possible by the generous support of local businesses and families.
