Washington High School will present "A Delightful Quarantine" this weekend in the Performing Arts and Events Center.
The play is based in Willsfire, Pennsylvania. Homes in the Sqauw Creek are placed on quarantine for three days after aliens make their fourth and final stop on earth.
Professor Louie Fuller, played by Logan Hanson, is the narrator of the play and gives his firsthand account of the events that happen to the families while they're in quarantine.
In one home there is Barbara Middlebrook, played by Lindsay Hippen, and her daughter Paula Middlebrook, played by Emma Butler, who are just meeting Barbara's other daughter Kitty Civette, played by Abby Schnicker. Paula is astonished that she is a twin and Kitty asks her mom why she was given up for adoption.
In another home Judeen Dempsey, played by Lena Adams, and Chester Banderhorn, played by Kyle Schindler, are on their first date together. Judeen panics and calls Barbara, asking what to do with Chester while they're in quarantine for three days. The interaction between Judeen and Chester is something to watch out for during the play.
In another home there are Bethany Robbins, played by Andrea Pingol, and Clark Wigglin, played by Rio Lujano, who were high school sweethearts. They explore their feelings for each other throughout the play.
To add to the plot Shirley Wigglin, played by Meredith Raber, is in another home with Roy Robbins, played by Michael Dillon, who is Bethany's husband. They also find out they have feelings for each other and try to figure out how to deal with each other's quirks.
Two daughters, Diandra Robbins, played by Jessica Dage, and Jennifer Wigglin, played by Gwen Flannery, are holed up together in a neighbor's home while she is on vacation. They find several treasures and have a good time not being supervised by their parents.
Siblings Sue Stadler, played by Casey Peiffer, and Dean Stadler, played by Reid Basten, deal with some devastating news and find out what they really mean to each other.
Sisters Violet Bassey, played by Hailey Haskins, and Mavis Jemco, played by Grace Miller, deal with a burgler, Tug Goff, played by Cody Chalupa while being in quarantine. They can't exactly call the cops and wonder if Tug is really a dangerous person but find a solution in the end that will get everyone laughing.
This play is a delightfully good time with some serious points and some comical points throughout it. You'll get to see how the people deal with their quarantine and learn about the each other as it is played out in the plot.
The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12, and at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13. There is a fee for adult admission, but students are free.
