Once again we have another opportunity to rejoice in the Lord Jesus Christ and to give Him thanks for all of His blessings and His love and for the great salvation that He has provided for us through the Lord Jesus Christ. One place in the Bible, the Word of God, says, "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Why are we to rejoice and be glad in it when sometimes it seems like everything is going the wrong way and the things pile up to where we wonder how we are going to make it and we wonder if God is still there and does He really care about us? I will tell you this day that God does love you and He cares about you and He is still the Lord of lords and the King of kings and He still sits on the throne over all creation. He is still God Almighty!
One day a man asked me this question when I told him that God loves us and cares about us. This was his question, "If God loves us, why does He let all these things happen to us?"
The answer that I gave him was this: God created man and woman and put them in the Garden of Eden where everything was very good and they were to have a close relationship with God there. In the process of time, the devil came along and lied to them and led them to believe that God was holding something back from them that they should have. They listened to the devil and put themselves under his rule or leadership, and today, we see the results of that in this world that we live in as we see the hatred, the corruption the lust for power, immorality, false religions that bring death or separation from God and the life He wants us to have. The Bible says that "the wages of sin is death," which is an eternal separation from God and will cause you to end up spending eternity in Hell with the devil and his angels instead of Paradise with Jesus and His angels.
Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to steal, kill and destroy; I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly."
This is God's love. He sacrificed His life for us on the Cross of Calvary to pay the penalty for our sins, that we could be set free from the devil and his dominion. He didn't have to do it but He did. The promise is for all that will accept Him, receive Him into their lives and find the blessings, the good things that He has for us.
I have found this so, and that is why I can say, "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."
The Bible says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." Psalm 34:8 says, "O taste and see that the Lord is good."
May this blessing be yours today.
