Activities planned at Hillcrest

Hillcrest Academy in Kalona has announced its upcoming activities.

The Hillcrest PTO will be operating its apple fritter booth at the Kalona Fall Festival on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28. Also at the festival, the Hillcrest Choirs and Praise Band will be performing on Friday, Sept. 27; the choirs at 2:30-3 p.m. and Praise Band from 3-3:30 p.m.

The Homecoming & Alumni Family Weekend will be Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5. Alumni soccer and volleyball games, Joetown Classic, pork supper, community hymn sing are planned. The annual Joetown Classic 5K run/walk will again be part of Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 5. Sign-up by Friday, Sept. 20, to get a T-shirt. The annual pork supper will be served 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. Tickets can be purchased from any junior Hillcrest student or at the door. The meal consists of pork, baked potato, salad and dessert. The proceeds help support junior students and the school.
