RIVERSIDE - The 2019 Ag Outlook is planned from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 1 at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort.
The event will feature speakers: Kevin Kimle with 'Start-ups Aim at Agriculture - Will They Hit or Miss?”; Dan Hueber with 'Emerging from the Wilderness;” and David Kohl with 'Positioning for Success in the Economic Reset.”
Kimle is rastetter chair of agricultural entrepreneurship at Iowa State University. He will speak about new technologies in agriculture.
Hueber is co-founder of The Hueber Report, an independent advisory and brokerage firm in Sycamore, Illinois. After years of difficult markets and low prices, it might be time to enter a new cycle in agriculture. Hueber will share what he expects and how producers can profit form the opportunities in the years ahead.
Kohl is professor emeritus at Virginia Tech, where he served as professor of the Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics for 25 years. His session will examine both the short run and long run economic and financial picture and address the adjustments producers and lenders must make to position for success. A new look at burn rate, not only on working capital, but also on core land equity, will be provided along with trends that will impact the industry now and by 2030.
