On Jan. 5, eight of the Fairfield FFA members attended leadership conferences at the FFA Enrichment Center.
Here, FFA members stretched their comfort zone to become better members and a better person overall. At this conference, members learned about FFA opportunities, careers in agriculture, and lots more. Members are now ready for anything and ready to take on the challenge of learning and improving.
The Ignite Conference is for freshman, and three members attended: Hannah Hughes, Madison Meixner and Emma Clubb. Past Iowa FFA officers help run the conference. This year, their focus was on careers in agriculture, opportunities in FFA, and leadership with integrity.
Tenth- and 11th-graders - Rachal Johnston, Kyleah McCabe, and Hannah Peck - attended the Amplify Conference. It is a great activity to get FFA members to become leaders and to help them improve their leadership skills. They learned how to find a vision of their future and how to build off that to help find what they want to be in their life.
For seniors, Hannah Clubb and Celsey Horton attend the Transform Conferences. Seniors learned how to take their leadership skills from the chapter to help them out of school. They also learned how the FFA has reflected on them and how the FFA will help them with their future and in agriculture related opportunities after high school.
Overall the eight members had a great time, leaned lots about themselves, and how the FFA really does help with their future careers and leadership opportunities.
