AGRICULTURE: IJBBA Open Cattle Show April 20 in Washington

WASHINGTON, Iowa - Washington County 4-H County Council will be sponsoring an Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association-sanctioned open cattle show April 20 at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
The event is open to youth of all ages up to 21. To exhibit at this show, there are no requirements be a member of the IJBBA or a member of 4-H. However, members of the IJBBA will receive points. To see all IJBBA show rules, visit http://ijbba.com/rules-ijbba.
The show is an opportunity for youth to compete against youth from other counties, work more with their cattle, gain experience and have fun.
Check-in is from 8-9:30 a.m. The show begins at 11 a.m.
Entry fee is $35. Preregistration guarantees one T-shirt per exhibitor. Make checks payable to Washington County Extension Office, 2223 250th St., Washington 52353. Registration forms are available at www.extension.iastate.edu/washington.
The supreme champion and the reserve champion in both the market and the breeding animals classes will receive $250 and $150, respectively. All first- through third-place in the class will have cash awards.
Health papers are required on all animals. If intending to show in a breed division, registration papers are required.
Generators are recommended, but not required.
A pancake breakfast will be served from 7-10:30 a.m. in the lower level of Dallmeyer Hall on the fairgrounds.
