How will your high school experiences help you in the coming years? High school has helped me establish a solid base of education and morals which I can continue to build on in the future. High school has helped me learn hard work and persistence.
Fondest memory of high school? My fondest memory of high school is partaking in extracurricular activities. Many of the skills I have today come from these sports. I could not imagine high school without these activities.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why? My 10th and 11th grade English teacher had the biggest impact on me. During those years, she piled homework on top of homework that was difficult. My teacher pushed me to a point where I had never been, and I struggled. From this, I learned perseverance and to never give up.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you? My dad is my role model because he showed me to never stop working until you have what you want and more. When my dad was younger, he did not know what he wanted to be. What he did know is that he wanted his kids to have a better life than him. From this want, he became an engineer so he could afford certain luxuries like a nice big house. To his day, he continues to work towards this goal. I hope one day I can be as good of a man and father as him.
What is special about your high school? Keota High School is special in its ways of being so small. Because of this, everyone knows each other and a friendly environment is always present.
If you could go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself? I would tell myself to participate in more activities outside of my comfort zone and make more friends from other schools.
