Ainsworth Sacha Club news

Seven members of the Ainsworth Sacha Club met at the Ainsworth Community Church on February 24, 2020. Rachel Carstensen, president, called the meeting to order.

Brenda Bean presented information about having another Scholarship Award banner created since the current one has no room for additional recipients. She contacted the business that made the current banner. A new 3 ft x 5 ft would cost $150.00. The members voted to proceed with the purchase of a new banner from this business.

The Sacha sponsored Blood Drive was held at the Ainsworth Community Church on February 17, 2020. There was good participation. Kathi Bean will present the report from Mississippi Valley Blood Bank at our next meeting.

The Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Mary Marr Lodge in Marr Park on Saturday, April 11, 2020.

Linda McNeil will reserve the lodge. Karen Megchelsen purchased the supplies to fill the eggs for the egg hunt. Members prepared the eggs for the hunt prior to the business meeting. Each member is to provide 2 dozen cookies for this event. Brenda Bean will contact the person who was the Easter Bunny last year to see if she is available to do it this year. The photo booth will be set up in the lodge.

The annual Sacha Scholarship was discussed. The form and requirements were evaluated. No changes were made. The applicants must be a Highland Senior from the Ainsworth area.

Rachel Carstensen will forward the form and guidelines to Highland School administration.

Rocky Roberts is planning the shopping spree for Saturday, April 25th. Ideas were shared regarding locations to visit. Final plans will be presented at the March meeting.

The next meeting will be March 23rd. We will be touring the new Ainsworth Fire Station.

Members are to meet at the Fire Station at 7 p.m. We will have our business meeting at the Ainsworth Community Church after the tour.
