All about bulbs, pruning and more

Did you know October is the ideal time to plant spring-flowering bulbs in the garden? Did you know tender perennials such as tuberous begonias, gladioli, cannas and dahlias can be dug in the fall and stored indoors until they can be returned to the ground the next spring?
On Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m. Washington County Master Gardener Vickie Gonterman will present a program all about bulbs, pruning and more. The program will be held at the Washington County Extension Office. The program is free and open to the public.
Gonterman will discuss when and how to plant spring-flowering bulbs, when to dig bulbs and how to over-winter them. She will also share information on pruning shrubs and bushes. She will offer solutions to your gardening problems and answer questions from the audience.
