1) If you were to give the education you received during high school a letter grade, what letter grade would you give it? Why?
A minus, because of the caring and strong community and the unique but memorable experiences.
2) What do you regard as the strengths of your education?
I am able to connect with my teachers and classmates on a deeper level because of the small class size. Teachers know me personally, so they understand where to help me grow.
3) What do you regard as the weaknesses of your education?
The small size makes it hard to have many opportunities and classes for each student to explore.
4) What are some of your fondest high school memories?
The high school camping trips, middle school projects, and performing at Spayde theater.
5) What instructor has had the most influence on your education?
Jan Thatcher. She has been tough, but she has taught me how to act and connect with other people's emotions. My love for being on stage came from her, and she has always been a great role model.
6) Who are your role models? Why?
In addition to Jan Thatcher, my Mother (though a trope) has been a hard-working, empathetic, and very giving role model. She is constantly working, not just handling so much for the school she cares about, but for friends and family, always doing the most to make others comfortable.
7) What advice do you have to offer to incoming freshmen?
Don't just prioritize school work, learn to enjoy life a little.
8) If you could start high school again, what changes would you make?
I would try to remember that grades aren't everything, that you can get everything done and have time to live a little.
