Local photographer Radim Schreiber won the $200 first place prize for two photographs which tied for the top honor in the All Things Italian Street Festival photo contest sponsored by MarathonFoto, a Fairfield-based national leader in event photography.
The announcement was made by festival director Dick DeAngelis and the contest was judged by Jason Schneider, former editor-in-chief of Modern Photography magazine and frequent Fairfield visitor.
?Both photographs capture iconic and universal moments in a single image,? said Schneider.
One of the top photos is of young children dancing in a circle and the other is a solitary image of Zampognaro Gianluca Zammarelli, the Italian bagpiper flown in from Rome to the delight of Fairfield audiences.
A Festival Director?s Choice $50 award was given to Werner Elmker for his photo of three local children watching world champion juggler Doug Sayers.
