Alpha Chi Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma
The Alpha Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honor society for women teachers, met Wednesday, March 4, for dinner at the Pizza Ranch in Washington. Following dinner, members went to Kathleen Almelien?s home where President Diane Rinner opened the meeting with a reading of Delta Kappa Gamma?s mission statement.

The Alpha Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honor society for women teachers, met Wednesday, March 4, for dinner at the Pizza Ranch in Washington. Following dinner, members went to Kathleen Almelien?s home where President Diane Rinner opened the meeting with a reading of Delta Kappa Gamma?s mission statement.
The group discussed legislative issues relating to education that are being considered by Iowa lawmakers.
President Rinner is working on an informative pamphlet, specific to Alpha Chi, which will be used to introduce and explain the purposes to future members. Members are considering doing a book study on ?The Teacher Wars: A History of America?s Most Embattled Profession? by Dana Goldstein.
April?s meeting will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at the UP Home. The plans are to interview residents and scrapbook the experience afterwards at Charlotte Lindmeier?s home.
The business meeting was followed by an informative program on spinning by Kathleen, using many of her wheels.
