The Alzheimer's Association is offering free community education from 3-4:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
The class, Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body, explores ways to reduce the risk of getting Alzheimer's by making healthy lifestyle choices.
The program will be facilitated by Megan Pedersen, program specialist with the Alzheimer's Association.
'There is mounting evidence to suggest that by being conscientious about diet and exercise and other lifestyle factors, we may be able to reduce our risk of getting Alzheimer's. This is exciting information and should be of interest to anyone who might have a concern about getting dementia later in life,” said Pedersen.
The class is suitable for professional, family, and personal caregivers.
Advanced registration is required by calling 800-272-3900 or by visiting www.alz.org/iowa.
