Alzheimer?s group sets workshop

BURLINGTON ? The Burlington Branch of the Greater Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer?s Association will be holding a special workshop from 2-3:30 p.m. Monday at its office in Burlington.
The workshop will offer ways for family members to explore managing stress and emotions, adjusting expectations, creating a safe and comfortable environment for the person suffering from dementia, identifying activities for a more meaningful holiday and more.

The Burlington Branch of the Greater Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer?s Association offers programs and support services for residents of the south-central and southeast areas of Iowa.
Deb Walz, the group?s community relations coordinator, explained the programs and support are not only for the residents of the city the program is held in, but the surrounding communities and counties as well.
Support groups are held in Appanoose, Des Moines, Lee and Wapello counties throughout each month.
