ELDON? The American Gothic House Center in Eldon will hold an opening reception to unveil its new outdoor exhibit area from 6-7 p.m. Friday.
The American Gothic House Center received $1,520 from Humanities Iowa and $520 from Central Iowa Tourism Region to support the creation of the new exhibit area.
The addition of an outdoor exhibit area provides a new educational resource to visitors and will provide a unique method for visitors to connect with the inspiration piece of American Gothic and the house?s place in history.
To add an interactive element to the exhibit, Quick-Response codes are included on each of the exhibit panels. The codes link to related items on the American Gothic House Center website so visitors can easily access educational materials. A demonstration table will be set up so visitors can learn about how the technology works and promotes the center.
Any person with a disability who requires special assistance to attend the event should call 641-652-3352 in advance.
The program is supported by Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
