Bob Kennedy, first district commander, reported on several items and noted that the first district conference will be held in Swisher this coming Saturday. The Midwest Military Outreach is currently accepting items for needy veterans, specifically clothing, at Community First Credit Union or Kennedy Insurance. Mike Worley, Honor Guard captain, reported on funerals the Legion has done this past month, with three in as many days last week. Lonny Milligan, fundraising chair, gave an update on the many dates the food stand will be operating, including the fly-in breakfast, auction barn sales, cruise-ins, Ridiculous Day, and celebrate Washington. All monies raised at these events benefit needy veterans, or activities involving veterans and their families.
All area veterans are invited to attend Post 29 meetings held at the Blair House on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.
